We are honored to have you visit our office and want you to make the best of
your visit. Following are some suggestions to make the best of your time and
money.
What to do
- Complete and bring the appropriate forms before
the visit.
- Bring your medication bottles (not the list) each and every visit. 'I
know what I am writing but I don't know what you are taking'.
-
'I love patients with organized printouts of
their medications, blood sugars etc.'
- General physical exam is recommended once a year. (check with your
insurance regarding coverage). Most Medicare advantage plans allow a general
physical exam once a year-except Passport advantage plan.
- Parents bringing their kids for 'Passport' physicals (EPSDT) need to
bring the shot record at the time of the visit.
- If you are due for a pelvic or breast exam, at the time of physical,
that will be included in the physical exam. Sexually active kids are also
advised breast and pelvic exams.
- If you have change of plans, please cancel at least 24 hours in advance.
No shows and resultant double bookings are one of the reasons for sometimes
long wait in the waiting room.
- Be considerate of the next patient. Please don't shoot door knob
questions. (By the way... questions when Doc's hand is on the door knob.)
Wonder why
- Generally preventative visits (physicals) cannot be mixed with problem
shooting (insurance reasons).
- Worker comp, auto insurance and health insurance problems also cannot be
mixed with each other (they'll all deny the claim given half a chance).
- Medicare does not allow General physicals except on your very 1st
healthcare contact within six months of getting Medicare (welcome to
Medicare physical).
